American Cruise Lines<\/strong>\u2019<\/a> Queen of the West <\/strong>is back in service on the Columbia and Snake Rivers<\/strong>, after undergoing some significant refurbishments prior to the start of the season. The 120-guest paddlewheeler received upgrades to her passenger accommodations and public areas, including the installation of a brand-new air conditioning system. Other noteworthy additions include elegant new dining room furniture, a new bar in the Paddlewheel Lounge, and completely new furniture in the Lewis & Clark Lounge.<\/p>\n\n\n

Queen of the West is currently sailing her third voyage of the year, with 31 additional sailings slated between now and November. The ship sails from Portland, Oregon<\/strong> to Clarkston, Washington<\/strong> and reverse, allowing guests to learn about the rich history of this region of the United States, from the Lewis and Clark Expedition to the Pacific Northwest\u2019s famed vistas and vineyards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow offering more than double the number of cruises since its inaugural season in 2010, Queen of the West has proved to be a great success,\u201d Beebe said. \u201cIncreasingly more people are finding this nostalgic form of river cruising appealing. Guests aboard Queen of the West enjoy complimentary tours ashore in each port and personalized service while onboard. A brand-new riverboat is currently under construction by American Cruise Lines for use along the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Capable of carrying 175 guests, the forthcoming vessel will allow American Cruise Lines to offer more itineraries and cruise options for those looking to explore the Pacific Northwest from the comfort and convenience of a river cruise ship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
