How do stateroom sizes compare for ships that cruise on the\u00a0Rh\u00f4ne<\/a><\/strong> and Sa\u00f4ne<\/a><\/strong> rivers in France? Even though there are fewer ships on these waterways, there is still a lot of variation in size.\u00a0Stateroom sizes range from 118 square feet to 445 square feet.\u00a0Most river cruise companies have only one or two vessels on the\u00a0Rh\u00f4ne and Sa\u00f4ne.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at how the stateroom sizes compare across the industry.<\/p>\n

Single Stateroom Size Comparisons<\/h3>\n

Single cabins are available on all ships in this region with the exception of AmaWaterways<\/a><\/strong>, Avalon Waterways<\/a><\/strong> and Viking River Cruises<\/a><\/strong>. Staterooms vary in size from 118 square feet to 205 square feet, depending on the river cruise line.\u00a0CroisiEurope<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>has the smallest cabins, and Uniworld’s solo cabins are close behind at 120 square feet.<\/p>\n

The largest solo cabins are found on Scenic. They are a spacious 205 square feet.<\/p>\n

A-ROSA and Tauck have single staterooms that are somewhere in between measuring 150 square feet to 156 square feet.<\/p>\n

Smallest Double Stateroom Size Comparisons<\/h3>\n

The size of the smallest double stateroom ranges from 118 square feet to 172 square feet. CroisiEurope has the smallest, and AmaWaterways and Avalon Waterways have the largest.<\/p>\n

Viking River Cruises has double staterooms that start at 135 square feet. And for A-ROSA, Scenic, Tauck and Uniworld, smallest double cabins are an average of 150 square feet to 160 square feet in size.<\/p>\n

Largest Double Stateroom Size Comparisons<\/h3>\n

Largest double staterooms range in size from 118 square feet to 445 square feet. CroisiEurope has the smallest cabins. Only one of its vessels on the\u00a0Rh\u00f4ne and Sa\u00f4ne has a suite, which is\u00a0about 153 square feet.\u00a0Two of CroisiEurope’s ships do not have suites, so the largest staterooms are the same as the standard ones – 118 square feet.<\/p>\n

Viking River Cruises has suites that are 445 square feet,\u00a0and Uniworld’s suites measure 410 square feet. These are the largest double staterooms available on the\u00a0Rh\u00f4ne and Sa\u00f4ne rivers.<\/p>\n

The suites for Avalon Waterways, Scenic and Tauck are at least 300 square feet. And AmaWaterways and Avalon Waterways have double cabins that are about 255 square feet.<\/p>\n

Most Common Stateroom Size Comparisons<\/h3>\n

The most common stateroom size on all ships ranges from 118 square feet to 205 square feet. CroisiEurope has the smallest cabins, and Avalon Waterways, Scenic and Viking River Cruises have the largest.<\/p>\n

The majority of\u00a0Uniworld’s staterooms are 194 square feet, which is still larger than most of the other cruise lines.<\/p>\n

And finally, AmaWaterways, A-ROSA and Tauck have their most common stateroom sizes between 156 square feet and 170 square feet.<\/p>\n

Which Company Has the Largest Staterooms?<\/h3>\n

Overall, Uniworld and Viking River Cruises have the largest double staterooms followed by Avalon Waterways and Scenic.\u00a0Whether or not this matters to you is based on your own preferences. Some travelers don’t seem to value the size of their stateroom as much, since most of their time onboard will be spent outside of it. For others, they like having a lot of space to be able to move around and feel at home in their staterooms.<\/p>\n
