Wine cruises are an ideal way to explore the world while learning from and engaging with wine hosts who live, breathe, and love wine. AmaWaterways’ hand-selected Wine Hosts are a mix of North America’s sommeliers, winery owners, and professional winemakers. While on the ship, the Wine Hosts lead seminars, wine-pairing dinners, and tasting events that uncork the culture and history of the world’s wine regions.

In 1994, the Rice family opened Sunstone Vineyards & Winery in California’s Santa Ynez Valley, where Bion Rice found his passion for blending wines. Under the tutelage of Daniel Gehrs, Bion also created his own wine label, Artiste, in 2002. Keeping it a family-owned business, he named two wines after his children Miles and Mason, who help with the harvest: “Milestone” and “Mason Cuvee.” His wife, Anna, leads the creative efforts for both Sunstone and Artiste. Join Bion as he shares his passion for organic viticulture and wines while hosting a Melodies of the Danube Wine Cruise sailing March 22-29, 2019 aboard the AmaSonata.
