On May 18th, Avalon Waterways will welcome its newest river cruise vessel: Avalon Panorama. Rather than being a sister to the line’s already popular fleet of river vessels, Avalon Panorama is an entirely new design – one that might turn some heads along the way.
Billed as a “Suite Ship,” Avalon Panorama will feature two full decks of suites known as Panorama Suites. These unique rooms will feature wall-to-wall windows capable of opening into an expansive French balcony, allowing cruisers to experience the majesty of Europe’s rivers like never before.
The ship is also notable for its spaciousness. The smallest staterooms aboard Avalon Panorama come in at 172 square feet – similar in size to most standard cruise ship staterooms.
The Panorama Suites are larger still at 200 square feet, and the ship’s 300-square foot Royal Suites pull out all the stops with additional living space, separate bathroom areas and enhanced amenities.

Some river cruise ships can be hit-or-miss in terms of amenities, but Avalon Panorama seems poised to raise the bar once again. She will be equipped with Wi-Fi access, a fitness center, well-stocked library, public rooms featuring wall-to-wall windows, onboard lectures and nightly entertainment, and fine dining.
Sun-worshippers and scenery mavens will also enjoy the open Sky Deck featuring plush seating and a unique shade system should things get too hot. The ship’s Open-Air Bistro ensures you can grab that quick bite to eat without removing yourself from the beauty of Europe’s waterways.
When she enters service in May, she’ll operate Avalon’s popular Blue Danube Discovery and Magnificent Europe itineraries. Later in the year, she’ll celebrate her first Christmas by operating a wide variety of winter sailings along the Danube, Main and Rhine rivers.
