Avalon Waterways recently took delivery of the brand-new Avalon Panorama, the line’s first “All-Suite” ship boasting two decks of suites, floor-to-ceiling windows and innovative Open-Air Balconies in select suites, transforming the entire suite into a stunning outdoor experience.

Avalon’s commitment to comfort and luxury in the river cruise market has clearly resonated with passengers: The line announced that thanks to unprecedented demand for the Avalon Panorama, she’ll be given two sister ships in 2012 – Avalon Vista and Avalon Visionary.
Like Avalon Panorama, the new Vista and Visionary will feature 178 Panorama Suites measuring 200 square feet each and six 300 square-foot Royal Suites.
Each suite features marble bathrooms stocked with L’Occitane toiletries, fresh flowers, and Avalon’s own deluxe Comfort Collection bedding. To top all it off, in 2012 Avalon guests will enjoy free Wi-Fi access fleetwide, and guests staying in the Royal Suites will be able to use in-room Apple iPads.
“Nothing showcases the best of river cruising like the Panorama, Visionary and Vista,” said Patrick Clark, managing director of Avalon Waterways. “Each Suite has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the European cruise experience. From bed and bathroom positioning to storage and sound-proof insulation, we provide cruisers a renewed feeling of freedom, space and comfort not found with other cruise lines.”
Onboard, Avalon’s Suite Ships feature a club, main lounge and a dining room with expansive views. A Sky Deck pool and an open-air bistro for outdoor grill lunches will no doubt be popular relaxation spots, and a hair salon and well-equipped fitness room round out the mix of public facilities.
Avalon says everything about these new Suite Ships came about as a result of listening to the continuous feedback from its customers and that the line is committed to constantly pushing the boundaries of what defines a river cruise in order to provide guests with cruise experiences that are both contemporary and consistent.

Beginning in 2012, Avalon’s Suite Ships will traverse the waterways of Europe with sailings such as the 15-day Magnificent Europe itinerary aboard Avalon Panorama, back by popular demand after the 2011 voyages sold out early.
Avalon Vista will sail 11-day Legendary Danube and 13-day Blue Danube Discovery voyages, in addition to the 15-day Magnificent European sailings.
Last but not least, Avalon Visionary will sail its maiden season on the beautiful Rhine, sailing 8-day Romantic Rhine voyages before operating a series of Christmas Markets cruises.
