A WAVE Award for AmaWaterways

Everyone likes being on the receiving end of good news, and this week AmaWaterways was honored to win the 2012 TravelAge West WAVE (Western Agents’ Votes of Excellence) Award for “Best Line for Cruise Value.” The WAVE Award allows travel agents working in the Western United States with the ability to recognize and reward their most outstanding travel partners.

“We are extremely pleased to be recognized once again this year with a WAVE Award, as well as Editor’s Pick Awards in numerous categories,” said Rudi Schreiner, AmaWaterways’ founder. “We consider travel agents to be our most important selling partners, and it is especially gratifying that they have singled out our river cruises for these distinctions.”

Key factors in the decision made by TravelAge West readers to bestow the award upon AmaWaterways include the line’s commitment to providing its guests with exceptional value by including all meals, free-flowing wines with dinner, daily shore excursions and tours designed to accommodate the needs of all its guests, like having a choice between “Gentle” and “Active” walking groups while ashore. “Late Starters” groups are also offered for those who prize those last few hours of sleep, while bicycles and bike tours ashore are also offered.

“From the accommodations in the large stateroom, to local entertainment and champagne with breakfast, AmaWaterways’ cruises provide the best value, local accessibility and exceptional entertainment to all of our passengers,” said Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways executive vice president and co-owner. “We are delighted to be recognized by our agent partners and will continue to deliver top-notch service.”

More than 4,500 professional travel agents and readers of TravelAge West voted to determine the best-of-the-best in the industry. AmaWaterways recently took delivery of the brand-new AmaCerto, expanding its reputation for quality ships and diverse itineraries even further. In addition to operating a fleet of elegant ships along the storied waterways of Europe, AmaWaterways also offers river cruises that explore the mysteries of Russia, the splendor of Vietnam and Cambodia, and new forays into Portugal’s Douro River and safari-style River cruises through Africa.
