Avalon Waterways is introducing two new ships on the waterways of Europe next year, reacting to positive customer feedback for the company’s most recent vessels and bringing the total number of “Suite Ships” in the line’s fleet to five.
Dubbed Avalon Expression and Avalon Artistry II, these two new river cruisers will feature two full decks of suites, including the popular 200-square foot Panorama Suites pioneered with the Avalon Panorama, and the spacious 300-square foot Royal Suites, offering guests comfortable, stylish accommodations across all levels, coupled with magnificent views of Europe.
“A Panorama Suite on our Suite Ships comes fully appointed and ready to deliver the very best of river cruising,” said Patrick Clark, managing director of Avalon Waterways. “Cruisers will discover they can really ‘live’ in the remarkably large, indoor/outdoor living space we provide, which is 30 percent larger than the industry standard.”
“Seeing the Old World doesn’t mean you have to cruise on an old ship,” Clark adds. “On an Avalon cruise, travelers will step aboard Europe’s youngest fleet where they’ll find themselves surrounded by the most expansive views, innovative technologies and inspired designs available.”
One such innovation is the line’s trademark Open-Air Balcony concept, present in all suites on all five Suite Ships. Seating areas are adjacent to a Wall-to-Wall Panoramic Window, which can be opened to create a 10’ x 7’ opening that transforms the entire suite into a true open-air balcony. Best of all, this comfortable space can be enjoyed in any weather condition – a feature that Avalon’s guests have come to appreciate.
When they enter service next spring, Avalon Waterways will have Suite Ships on the Danube, Main and Rhine rivers; offering passengers more choice than ever when choosing both their itineraries and ships for 2013.
