In this Avid Cruiser video, we show you the challenges of navigating parts of the Danube River during high water periods. The high water levels result not only from excess rain and melting snow but also from water controls at the many locks along the Danube. From the night Viking Odin attempted to pass under the low bridge to the next night 24 hours later, the water level at the bridge had receded 11 inches, thanks to the opening of locks downstream. Did we make it under — or not?
