Last week, the line announced that they would acquire Compagnie Fluviale du Mekong, or CFM, which will be renamed CFM by CroisiEurope. CroisiEurope has chartered the line’s RV Indochine from CFM since 2011, and will gain four new colonial-style ships along the Mekong as part of the acquisition.

The acquired ships are:

  • RV Indochine: 48 passengers with 24 cabins
  • RV Lan Diep: 44 passengers with 22 cabins
  • RV Tioum Tou 1: 20 passengers with 10 cabins
  • RV Tioum Tou 2: 28 passengers with 14 cabins

Each of the acquired ships will continue to sail their respective itineraries along the Mekong between Siem Reap, Cambodia and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam from August to April. CroisiEurope also gains two additional, as-yet-unnamed vessels currently under construction in Vietnam that will further expand their Mekong fleet and itinerary offerings in both Cambodia and Vietnam.

Under the new CFM by CroisiEurope brand, the line’s Mekong voyages will offer the following key highlights:

  • Discovering the Khmer temples at the site of Angkor, the seat of the Khmer Empire in Cambodia from the 9th to 15th centuries;
  • Cruising in 4-star luxury ships, completely paneled in tropical hardwood;
  • Visiting the bustling city of Saigon, the French-Colonial city of Phonom Penh and the local floating villages through the region;
  • Exploring Lake Tonle Sap and fish farms on the Mekong Delta.

More information about CroisiEurope’s ventures along the Mekong will be published here as they become available.
