American Queen Steamboat Company Unveils New Website

You may not have noticed yet, but the American Queen Steamboat Company (AQSC) has quietly revamped its entire website.

While the new website offers more interactive components and enhanced information, it also makes it easier for potential guests to learn all about what makes AQSC’s voyages so special. On the homepage, for example, guests can easily learn about Themed Voyages, discover AQSC’s post-cruise hotel packages, and find any special offers that are currently available.

The new, dedicated page for the American Queen even features a video tour of the iconic paddlewheeler hosted by River Cruise Advisor’s own Ralph Grizzle. The page also serves as a landing page from which deck plans, accommodation information, and an overview of the onboard experience can be found.

The line’s new American Empress isn’t left out, either, with a substantially improved web presence when compared with the previous website. Originally constructed in 2003, the American Empress sat idle for years at a U.S. shipyard; the casualty of the bankruptcy of her former owners, Majestic America Line, back in 2008. But now she’s back, and better than ever.

The American Queen Steamboat Company estimates it spent US$3 million refitting and renovating the vessel before placing her into service along the Columbia River. Carpets, wall treatments and soft furnishings were all completely replaced, along with substantial upgrades to the ship’s lighting and technical and marine spaces. The new website makes it easy to see just how significant these upgrades were.

Designed in conjunction with AQSC’s digital advertising partner Fuseidas, the line has also upgraded the travel agent portion of the website to include more marketing materials, information and sales support.
