CroisiEurope Announces World War I Commemorative Cruise

CroisiEurope is offering a commemorative cruise to mark the 100th anniversary of the US entering World War 1. This itinerary pays homage to “the war to end all wars,” which redrew boundaries, reshaped the political landscape and forever changed the way wars were fought. Prices begin at $1,838 per person for departures on Sept 13, 2017 and Oct 3, 2017

Highlights and onshore excursions are includes: 

  • Walking through the “Trench of Death” in Diksmuide;
  • Visit to Passchendaele Museum, located in Zonnebeke Castle, in Kortrijk;
  • Visit to the largest memorial for commonwealth forces, the Memorial in Kotrijik;
  • Tour of the underground tunnels used during the war at the Carrière Wellington.

Over seven days, guests will travel on the MS Victor Hugo with stops in France and Belgium, beginning on the Belgian coast in Ostende and ending the French city of Lille. During onshore excursions, guests will be able to walk through the “Trench of Death” in Diksmuide; visit what is described as the largest memorial for commonwealth forces, the Memorial to the Missing in Kotrijik; and tour the underground tunnels used during the war at the Carrière Wellington.
