Water Levels, Good News From The Danube

This past Saturday, Britton arrived in Vilshofen, Germany, for a cruise along the Danube. She texted me a photo showing AmaViola sitting pretty, with plenty of water beneath her keel. That’s a relief. Following an unprecedented year of low water in Europe, we have high hopes that this year water levels will remain normal on the Danube and other rivers that course through the continent.

Our readers have been instrumental in assessing current conditions by updating us – and one another – about water levels. Join the discussion here, River Cruise Water Levels.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. Level downstream of Budapest too low for Viking. Bussed 2.5 hrs down to Mohacs but rest of way to Bucharest supposed to be OK.

  2. We are taking a river boat cruise on the Danube October 23rd. How do the water levels look?

  3. We are cruising with Viking (European Sojourn – Bucharest to Amsterdam) September 28-October 23, 2019 and am starting to investigate water levels.

After reading the 2018 comments and being a first time river “cruiser” was wondering how the levels are looking for the fall? Any advice?
