Those of you who are subscribed to our sister site, Avid Cruiser, may have noticed that we are going through some changes with our site. Not only have we had a site redesign, we also have assembled a new team of writers for the site, including myself.
These changes will be coming to River Cruise Advisor soon, so I thought I’d outline what we did with Avid Cruiser below so you know what to expect.
Ralph Grizzle started the Avid Cruiser website in 1999, making this year the 20th anniversary. As the site grew over the years, River Cruise Advisor was formed, and both sites have had a substantial following throughout their histories. Though I don’t have a screen grab of Avid Cruiser’s homepage from the year it started, I do want to show you a few screenshots of the website over the years to show you how it has evolved.
As you can see, the site has gone through dramatic transformations over the past 15 years. What started as a website solely for travel agents, quickly became a valuable tool for those researching cruises, and cruise enthusiasts alike.
As I mentioned, these changes will be coming to River Cruise Advisor soon. We are excited for our newest site design – which looks pretty and is also easier for you to use, a win-win.
Not only have we changed our site design, we have also changed the design of our newsletters, and the day of the week that we send them out. These newsletters have been a staple on the site for quite a bit of time, and include the latest articles written by our team, as well as cruise news from your favorite cruise companies.
We have been working hard with multiple professionals across various fields including web design and public relations to make sure that we are putting our best foot forward for our readers, and presenting our content in interesting and easy-to-use ways.
Those of you who have been with us for a few years now know how important it is for us to be transparent, not only with unbiased cruise advice and reviews, but also with you about what is going on behind the scenes. We look at River Cruise Advisor as a family, and your input is often equally important as our own.
