In April 2026, we’re inviting you to join us on a journey through one of France’s most enchanting wine regions — not just to savor fine food and flowing wines, but to help support the community we love back home.
We’ll be sailing aboard AmaWaterways’ AmaCello on the Flavors of Burgundy itinerary, departing April 23, 2026, for a seven-night cruise along the serene Saône River. And this time, we’re traveling with purpose.
This special departure will serve as a fundraiser for Fairview, which was hard hit by Hurricane Helene in September 2024, leaving devastating floods, landslides, and long-lasting hardship in its wake.
To support recovery efforts, AmaWaterways is generously donating $200 per stateroom booked to FairviewStrong.org, a grassroots organization helping families rebuild homes and lives in the aftermath. On top of that, we’re offering special discounted rates for those who join this fundraising departure — making it a win for your wanderlust and your heart.
Why Burgundy?
Burgundy is a land of understated beauty — where lazy rivers snake through vineyard-laced hills, medieval towns invite you to linger, and every meal seems touched by tradition. It’s a place I’ve grown to love, and this past spring I had the privilege of experiencing the Flavors of Burgundy cruise firsthand.
AmaWaterways crafted this itinerary for those who want to explore off the beaten tourist track — through towns like Seurre, Saint-Jean-de-Losne, and Chalon-sur-Saône, names that may not ring bells but will certainly leave a lasting impression. The river is peaceful, the excursions are intimate, and the food and wine are — no surprise — exceptional.
On my last cruise, I helped assemble a wine barrel at a 300-year-old cooperage, pedaled along the vineyard paths of Tournus, and lingered over tastings that revealed just how diverse and delicious Burgundy wines can be. Our cruise manager, Simon, put it best when he said, “This itinerary is for more discerning guests — those who want to taste Burgundy deeply.”

Make a Difference — One Cabin at a Time
For every stateroom booked on this hosted sailing, AmaWaterways will donate $200 to FairviewStrong.org — a volunteer-run nonprofit that’s providing direct aid to families affected by Hurricane Helene. From rebuilding homes to replacing essentials, FairviewStrong ensures every dollar goes where it’s most needed.
We’re also working with AmaWaterways to offer discounted rates for our group. So, not only will you enjoy the beauty and bounty of Burgundy — you’ll also be helping neighbors back home get back on their feet.
Optional Add-Ons: Paris & Geneva
Want to extend your adventure? You can add three nights in Paris before the cruise, or three nights in Geneva afterward. These packages include hotel stays, daily breakfast, guided tours, and transfers — making your trip seamless from start to finish.
