Viking has announced its first-ever river cruises in India, launching in 2027 with a new 15-day Wonders of India itinerary. The journey will include an eight-day cruise on the Brahmaputra River aboard the Viking Brahmaputra, a purpose-built 80-guest vessel currently under construction.

Sailing between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat in the northeastern state of Assam, the new itinerary will also feature a fully guided land program with overnights in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. In total, guests will visit up to 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and take part in 13 included tours.

“The Brahmaputra offers a unique look at India’s landscapes and cultures,” said Torstein Hagen, Chairman and CEO of Viking. “We’re excited to bring our guests deeper into this remarkable country in a way that aligns with the comfort and depth of exploration Viking is known for.”
