California-based AmaWaterways is shaking up its fleet deployment this year by repositioning the 2006-built AmaDagio to the Rhone River, and to celebrate, the line is pulling out all the stops.

When AmaDagio sets sail on the Rhone for the first time on March 25, she will feature one of AmaWaterways’ popular In Celebration of Wine themes, focusing on both cultural and culinary history. Each wine cruise includes visits to cellars and vineyards to learn firsthand about the production and techniques of the “Old World,” as well as tasting sessions, special locally themed wine pairings with dinner, and complimentary wine lectures with some of the most renowned hosts and industry experts.
Fans of AmaWaterways will also find plenty to like about the March 25 sailing of the AmaDagio, which doubles as a President’s Wine Cruise. AmaWaterways’ President and Co-Owner Rudi Schreiner and Executive Vice President and Co-Owner Kristin Karst will host this momentous sailing. They will be joined by Carissa Chappellet, owner and managing director of Chappellet Winery, and Archie McLaren, founder and chairman of Central Coast Wine Classic.

AmaDagio’s new home on the Rhone lends itself well to these popular In Celebration of Wine voyages. The Rhone is home to some of the most popular regions and wine makers in Europe, giving guests the unique opportunity to experience the rich winemaking history of this exciting region firsthand. Best of all, these new Rhone itineraries offer all of the hallmarks that have made AmaWaterways so popular: well-designed, comfortable ships, excellent cuisine, and spectacular, personal service.
