Avalon Waterways introduced the Avalon Siem Reap in 2014. Traveling along the Mekong River, the 195-foot vessel carries up to 36 passengers and 24 crew members. There are several itineraries available from 8 to 22 days long and that travel between Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Siem Reap, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok and Hanoi.
The Avalon Siem Reap has only two decks and both feature staterooms as well as public areas. Even though space is somewhat limited, the ship features large staterooms, a fitness room, spa treatment center and a lounge and bar. She is similar in build to the Avalon Myanmar but is five feet smaller in length and has two decks rather than three. The Avalon Siem Reap is the smallest vessel owned by Avalon Waterways.
AVALON SIEM REAP Staterooms
All staterooms on the Avalon Siem Reap measure 245 square feet and feature a wall-to-wall open-air balcony. There are 12 Category B staterooms on the Mekong Deck (Deck 1) and 6 Category A staterooms on the Tonle Deck (Deck 2).
Cabins are furnished with Avalon Waterways’ style Comfort Collection Beds (SM). Bedding consists of a premium mattress topper, Egyptian super-combed cotton linens and European-style duvet. They are further decorated with soft and firm pillows.
In each stateroom, there is a large private bathroom with a shower. Guests are provided with a bathrobe, slippers and premium toiletries.
Other features include bedside tables with reading lamps, a writing desk and a seating area. Each room also has an in-room safe, a well-stocked mini-bar and individual climate control.
AVALON SIEM REAP Public Areas
There are a few places where guests can gather on the Avalon Siem Reap. Located toward the front or forward on the Tonle Deck (Deck 2), there is an Observation Lounge with premium lounge chairs as well as the Panorama Lounge and Bar. On the same deck located toward the rear or aft of the ship, guests are served meals in the Main Dining Room. And for those who like the services of a spa, the Spa Treatment Room is located toward the back of the ship near the dining room.
The Mekong Deck features two additional public areas – the Navigation Bridge as well as a Fitness Room for guests who like to stay fit while traveling.
River Cruisers Should Know!
- All staterooms and suites have an open-air balcony.
- Currency onboard is the U.S. Dollar. Shipboard accounts can be settled by Visa or Mastercard credit card. Some purchases onshore may require local currency.
- Wireless internet service is provided by a third party with separate terms and conditions. There is not generally a charge; however, fees may be incurred with certain usage. The signal may not always be reliable.
- Onboard stateroom power is 220 volts; North American cruisers will require a power adapter.
