AVALON PASSION Overview
One of the newest ships in the Avalon Waterways‘ fleet, the Avalon Passion, will be launched in April 2016. The 443-foot long vessel is one of the largest ships in the company’s portfolio. Avalon Passion will accommodate up to 166 passengers, and a staff of 47 crew members will be onboard to serve its guests.
Travel is available on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers with itineraries that are from 10 to 24 days long.
AVALON PASSION Staterooms
Since this ship is larger than most of the other Avalon Suite Ships, there are more staterooms available. Nearly 81% of the accommodations are suites; however, there are more Deluxe Staterooms on the Avalon Passion than there are on most of the other ships owned by Avalon Waterways.
Deluxe Staterooms are located on the Indigo Deck (Deck 1). These cabins are 172 square feet in size and feature two upper windows rather than a balcony. Category D has six cabins available, and there are ten available for Category E.
Most staterooms on the Avalon Passion are the Panorama Suites. There are 65 cabins available in three different categories. Categories A and B are located on Deck 2, the Sapphire Deck. And the remaining Panorama Suites are on the Royal Deck (Deck 3). Staterooms are 200 square feet and feature a wall-to-wall open-air balcony.

The largest staterooms on the Avalon Passion are the Royal Suites. They occupy 300 square feet and also feature a wall-to-wall open-air balcony. Located on the third deck, the Royal Deck, there are only two rooms available – #310 and #312.
While most cabins, regardless of category, share many of the same amenities, there are a few additional ones included in the Panorama and Royal Suites. For instance, both have a 6-person sitting area, which includes a sofa and coffee table. Bathrooms are designed with marble countertops. And bathrooms in the Royal Suites feature a double sink.
Staterooms for all categories are furnished with a writing desk, a flat-screen TV with movie channel and Comfort Collection Beds (SM) with a memory-foam mattress topper, dressed with Egyptian super-combed cotton linens and a European-style Duvet.
Bathrooms feature a full shower with a glass door, and guests are treated to premium bath products as well as a bathrobe and slippers.
Additional amenities include an in-room safe, well-stocked mini-bar and individual climate control.
AVALON PASSION Public Areas
There are Public Areas available to guests on each deck of the Avalon Passion. While some are designed for more social interaction, others are for more individual activities. For example, there is a Fitness Room on the Indigo Deck; and the Internet Corner and Hair Salon are located on the Royal Deck.
Outside on the Sky Deck, guests can relax in the Whirlpool or enjoy the fresh air and passing scenery from a Premium Lounge Chair. A Deck Game Area and the Navigation Bridge are also located on the top deck.
In the Main Dining Room on the Sapphire Deck, guests are served breakfast, lunch and dinner. That’s not the only dining option available, though. There are two bistros onboard that offer more casual and lighter meals – the Sky Bistro on the Sky Deck and the Panorama Bistro on the Royal Deck.
The Avalon Passion, like her sister ships, features four lounges for guests to gather and enjoy their favorite drinks. The Club Lounge is located toward the back or aft of the ship on the Royal Deck, and the Panorama Lounge and Observation Lounge are located forward on the same deck. And the Sky Deck features the Sky Lounge.
