Riverside Waives Single Supplement On All 2023 & 2024 Sailings

I can’t tell you exactly how many emails we receive from solo travelers, but I can tell you that we receive a lot. All are looking for essentially the same thing: to avoid what they perceive as punitive charges for traveling alone. Indeed, many solo travelers are asked to pay the price for two full guests when they’re sailing by themselves.

We always try to help those travelers find companies that waive or reduce the single supplement, so we were delighted to learn that Riverside Luxury Cruises is waiving single supplements on all 2023 and 2024 cruises in Melody Suites (Rhine Class ships) and Harmony Suites (Mozart) based on availability

The deal gets a little sweeter because those who book by November 30, 2023 for any 2023 or 2024 sailing will receive a $150 on-board credit. That’s per person but applies to solo travelers as well, according to our read.

How to take advantage of this generous offer? Riverside has limited space for its Christmas Markets cruises for itineraries that range from 3 to 12 nights. Using the waived single supplement as an example, singles could enjoy a 4-night December sailing between Passau and Vienna for US$2,630 on December 11, 2023. Only four nights? Yes, then combine that with a stay in Vienna or Budapest – or even better, both. I once booked a winter rate at the Ritz-Carlton Vienna, a divine stay in a wonderful city. Of course, Vienna has many 5-star hotels from which to choose.

If you wanted to stay on board longer, Riverside has just the sailing for you: 12 days roundtrip Vienna. Dubbed the “Dazzling Danube Celebration,” this cruise on Riverside Mozart runs December 22, 2023 through January 3, 2024, and savvy singles who book before this one sells out pay only US$6,642 for a luxurious holiday in an all-inclusive 215-square-foot Harmony Suite. I can imagine this being the perfect arrangement for a few friends who don’t want to share a stateroom.

Riverside Mozart is a gorgeous double-width river cruiser. Yes, that’s right, it’s twice as wide as a standard river cruiser. The additional space allows for multiple dining venues, indoor pool and spa with sauna and steam bath, grand public spaces, expansive sundeck space and much more. Because of its generous proportions, Riverside Mozart operates only on the Danube.

Another sailing that caught or eye, especially for single travelers, will take place on the Riverside Bach. The “Holland at the Heart of Tulip Season” sailing runs just US$3,432 for single travelers, with voyages on March 24 and 31 – and April 7, 2024.

Also appealing to us are the 7-night Arles to Chalon-sur-Saone cruises in 2024. Who doesn’t love sailing the south of France? At US$3,681 for a Melody Suite, the all-inclusive fare is hard to beat for a single traveler. Of course, the rate is based on availability, so if I were a single traveler, I’d act quickly.
